<\/a><\/b><\/p>\nEugenio Gonz\u00e1lez<\/span><\/b><\/a> is a Sr. Research Director at the TIMSS and PIRLS International Study Center where he oversees the areas of data analysis, psychometrics and assessment innovations. Prior to re-joining Boston College, he was Principal Research Project Manager at Educational Testing Service (ETS), and the director of the IEA-ETS Research Institute (IERI), a collaborative effort between the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and ETS that focused on improving the science of large-scale assessments. While at ETS, Dr. Gonzalez was International Survey Director for PISA and PIAAC, and also responsible for the technical documentation and international database training activities for both studies. Between 2007 and 2012 he founded and served as head of the Research and Analysis Unit at the IEA-Hamburg, and from 2004 \u2013 2006 was the director of quality control and field operations for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). <\/span>After graduating from Boston College, he became a director of International Operations and Data Analysis for TIMSS AND PIRLS, and was a founding member of the International Study Centre (ISC) at Boston College, where he worked from 1994 until 2004. In this earlier role, he oversaw the development and implementation of international operations, data analysis and reporting procedures for TIMSS and PIRLS. Since 1993, Dr. Gonzalez has conducted numerous database training activities for several research and governmental organizations and has been a lead developer and technical lead of customized software for analyzing international large-scale assessment databases such as the IEA\u2019s IDB Analyzer and ETS\u2019s Data Explorer. In addition, Dr. Gonzalez has served as consultant to several national and international large-scale assessment programs and has held teaching appointments at Boston College and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is also Professor of Finance (by courtesy) at the GSB. Previously, she was University Professor at The George Washington University and, before that, she was the Joel Z. and Susan Hyatt Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College, where she started her academic career. <\/span><\/span>She has also taught at Princeton University, the University of Chicago\u2019s Harris School of Public Policy and Booth School of Business, and Columbia Business School. She was also a visiting scholar at Harvard Business School. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and an honorary doctorate from the University of Vaasa in Finland.One of the most cited authors in financial literacy, Lusardi is the founder and Academic Director of the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC), which has done pioneering work on personal finance education. She has published close to 100 articles and books, including publications in the\u00a0American Economic Review<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0Journal of Political Economy<\/em>. She is the founder and inaugural editor of the\u00a0Journal of Financial Literacy and Wellbeing,<\/em> published by Cambridge University Press.\u00a0Lusardi served as a faculty advisor for the Office of Financial Education at the U.S. Treasury. From 2017 to 2023, she was the Director of the Italian Financial Education Committee in charge of designing and implementing a national strategy for financial literacy in Italy.
